Vacation Bible School this year will once again be in partnership with Our Savior's Lutheran Church, locally produced and pre-recorded for online on the evenings of June 1-4. Please thank OSLC staff member Quentin Markfort for inviting members of Salem to be a part of this special program this year. The lessons will be pre-recorded by Quentin and other leaders, and Pastor Matt will be pre-recording music with guitar to video and otherwise helping where necessary.
Since this will be a home-based online version of VBS, parents are asked to set aside the time to do VBS as a family, helping their children with the lessons, activities, and crafts that will be available. Children of all ages can participate. There is no cost this year, but registration is required.
Below are the steps to participate:
1. Please use this link to register each member of your family that wants to participate: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxDonAUcD41w5Gr3491s9ECw-iY2OUZ5RJVcMirqciWAntkQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
2. Prior to June 1st, we'll have a night or two where everyone can drive by OSLC and pick up the a "craft kit" for each person registered. This kit will contain the craft supplies you need for the week, all in a Ziploc bag.
3. To kick off the week, on June 1st we will do a Facebook Live at 6:30pm to explain the week's theme, introduce your leaders, and have a little fun.
4. Each night at 7pm on June 1-June 4 we will post a video that has a theme introduction, bible story reading, a bible skit, the craft instructions, and maybe another surprise or two. We invite your family to take pictures of VBS throughout the week and send them to Quentin at qmarkfort@gmail.com. We'll make a slideshow and show it.
5. On Thursday June 4, we will end the week with another Facebook Live to wrap the week up and show you our picture slideshow.
Ideally, we'd meet in person, but that isn't possible this year. This current plan will be filled with fun, learning, and time together growing in faith. If you have any suggestions to make this better, please reach out! Until we meet again, may God bless and keep you and your family safe and sound.
