Dear Salem Sunday School Parents,

I hope that your summer is going well, and blessings as you begin the new school year.

This letter is to inform you that I will be leading a family-based Sunday School after the 9:30am worship service this coming year. It will begin at approximately 10:45am, depending on the length of the service that day. Our first lesson will be on Sunday, September 19. Note that Sunday, September 12 is our “Welcome Back” Sunday, but we will be busy with festivities after worship and unable to have a formal lesson.

I know that your children’s faith education remains important to you all. At the same time, I am aware that there are many concerns about another school year with the pandemic. For this reason, I am planning this unsure of how many families may choose to attend. If more are involved, we will adapt to accommodate larger numbers again, but keep in mind that this will require the commitment of volunteers.

There are currently no arrangements for parent volunteers to teach. “Family-based” means that I would like a parent, grand-parent, or other adult to attend with the children of each household. The adults present will learn along with the children and help to keep them engaged and participating. Additional adults from the congregation who would like to interact and assist are always welcome.

I request that masks be worn so that we can help to mitigate any further spread of the Covid-19 delta variant.

Here’s the summary:
•    Family-based Sunday School (each attending household includes an adult).
•    Any ages welcome.
•    Begins Sunday, September 19 after 9:30am worship.
•    We will meet in the Sanctuary.
•    I am requiring mask use for participants (except children too young wear one).

Blessings, and I hope to see you then!

Pr. Matt
