Hello Salem Sunday School Families!

We have been presented with the opportunity to work collaboratively with the United Methodist Church of Montevideo on religious education for our Salem youth. We have already partnered with them for Summer VBS the last 2 years and are excited to explore more ways we can work together to help our youth grow in their faith! 
SLC/UMC joint Children's Ministry is offered for Preschoolers through 5th Graders on Wednesday nights from 4:45-6pm. It is currently being held at UMC (731 N. 11th St, Montevideo) with the hopes of holding future sessions at Salem on Wednesdays starting early 2024. We want to make sure you know that your children are welcome to attend on Wednesdays as soon as they can! To help make this partnership a success, we are looking for additional SLC volunteers to help with serving meals, leading small groups or assisting our youngest learners on Wednesdays (this could even be older youth/siblings). 
Note: UMC also offers a youth group on Wednesday nights for 6th grade and up and we are still in the process of figuring out ways we can coordinate with them on activities for older youth. 
While there are currently no plans for traditional "Sunday School" classes on Sundays at Salem, we plan to offer family fun activities at the church every few months and are looking for more volunteers and ideas to make this a possibility! We will also have opportunities to join in on UMC youth activities throughout the year, like their trip to the A maze'n Farmyard on October 22nd!!
