New Sign Installed

The new Salem sign arrived this week! It arrived in a large crate and was installed by a team of people including Steve Heggestad, Aaron Blom, Kurt Hoehne, Ron DeJong, Thomas Philaya, and Pr. Matt. It sat nicely on the concrete base with the four bolts that was poured last week. The interchangeable letters have not yet arrived, but will soon. The new electrical wiring could not be run the evening it was installed due to blockage in the decades-old conduit, but new conduit will be run from the sign to the building soon.

The other day I was talking with someone from out of town who was asking where Salem was located. What was interesting was that he knew exactly where Casey's and Verizon are located (to the east and north), but for as many times as he had driven by, he had never noticed Salem. Our new signage both over the entry and now on Hwy 7 will be great for our visibility, and the advertising benefit we gain with removable letters will be a noticeable benefit for our worship services and events.
