Last summer the air conditioning for the south end of the building quit working during one of the hot spells. Upon inspection it was discovered that the furnace to which it was connected was close to 30 years old, installed when the new addition was put on. The decision was made by council to wait to get a new furnace and air conditioning unit until the roof project debt was paid off. Fortunately, the roof debt was paid off at the end of the year, there was money to be put toward a furnace and air conditioning. Because we did not need the air conditioning over the winter and the furnace was operational, it was decided to wait until spring.

To date, over $8500 has been received and is earmarked for the furnace and air conditioning project. This leaves around $3000 left to raise. THANK YOU to Salem members once again for donations to the roof project as well as toward the replacement of the furnace and air conditioning in the south end of the building.
